Have you ever wondered why we put off everything until there’s no way out? Taxes until the last day, the car going to the shop when it sounds like a tractor… With AI, we’re doing something similar, but in epic mode. It’s like seeing a train coming and standing still, thinking “let’s see what happens.” Why is it so hard for us to prevent the drama instead of waiting for it?

Let’s break down why we are like this, what makes AI different, and how we could start moving before it’s too late.

Spoiler: this isn’t an apocalyptic talk, but an invitation to reflect on the future we want (and the one we don’t).

The “now” is more powerful than the “later”: It’s hard for us to give up something today for an uncertain tomorrow. Regulating AI sounds like boring paperwork, while continuing to develop at full speed…
The abstract…
